Jerard Joseph Billingsley, known professionally as JBILZ, is an author, and a storyteller whose life experiences shape every word he writes. Raised in Chicago, Jerard grew up surrounded by challenges that could have easily limited his future. Instead, he chose discipline, resilience, and purpose. A standout athlete at King High School, he was part of an extraordinary 1990 National Championship team and later a National Championship runner-up in 1993, with both teams
finishing an undefeated 32–0 season. These achievements reflect more than athletic excellence they represent values of teamwork, commitment, and belief that now guide his work as a writer and mentor.
Beyond sports, he has dedicated his life to uplifting young people through education and community service. Actively involved with the Chicago Public Schools system, he continues to mentor and inspire youth by leading through example. His storytelling is deeply rooted in lived experience, making his message genuine, relatable, and impactful. Jerard writes not just to tell stories, but to change perspectives, build confidence, and remind children that greatness can come from anywhere.
